Computational approaches bring new challenges and complexities to historical research, but they also provide unprecedented opportunities for visual storytelling. We have launched Data Snapshots to showcase our own work using the power of visual media. Each Snapshot centres around one visualisation of case data sourced from one or more inquisitorial registers and offers a quick glimpse into published or ongoing research. Each image not only tells a story about what kind of data we collect, but how we classify and think about them during the research process.
